Important limitations (so you know what you’re getting)

We believe in full transparency — here are the trade-offs to keep in mind:

• Limited channel count by default — Out of the box you get 128 DMX channels live which is great to get started, then you can upgrade to 512 via dmxsoft.com

• Software mode is Express edition only — With the default package the Daslight software runs in “Express” mode: for example in Daslight 4 Express there’s a limit of 32 steps per scene, no super scenes, no live mixer, and a maximum of 4 scenes playing simultaneously. Everything else including the 3D visualiser is included.

• Single DMX output — One 3-pin XLR port means one universe (unless you split further), so very large rigs with multiple universes will require extra hardware or another interface. 

• Stand-alone memory modest — The internal memory is 50 k, which is sufficient for many small shows

• Additional licences/upgrades may be needed — If you unlock the full version of the software, extra channels, Art-Net universes and other premium features, there are separate licence costs. Some users have flagged this.

Daslight 5 

Included is Daslight 5 (Express) which is an incredibly powerful, intuitive and easy to learn DMX Software which has easy Midi Mapping so you can use your own controllers as wings, trigger from backing tracks, or even use a touchscreen or ipad as a remote controller.

Live playback

Control Dimmer, speed, phase shift, and size directly with the new live rotary encoders available for each scene. Play your scenes forwards, backwards, or both ways. Divide your scenes into segments which can be jumped between with a GO button or BPM.

Music Sync

Synchronize your show with the music BPM using tap-tempo, MIDI clock or Ableton Link. React to the music pulse with line-in audio. Divide scenes into a number of beats of your choice to sync in harmony with tricky tempo’s!

Mapping modes

Switch the entire software to mapping mode, allowing you to link any control to your keyboard, MIDI controller, or DMX console in one click!

Limits

Set the maximum movement of your fixtures and focus the beams only in the area you want. Also adjust the minimum and maximum dimming of each fixture for your entire show.

Touch

Create a custom screen layout to use on a touchscreen, or link with an iPhone, iPad or Android device over WiFi. Perfect for mobile control and for installations.
